Approved Body Therapies To Compliment Essence Work

Below are a list of the several body therapies that are recognised within both schools. Note that
as with any therapy, if you'd like more information you can do a Google search for therapists in your area. For example: Reichian Therapist Greece

Reichian Therapy

The bodywork that gave Faisal Muqaddam and Hameed Ali their first experiences of the essential states. Private sessions with teachers can sometimes include Reichian techniques but please note this is very different from engaging in the full experience.

Reichian therapy is described as
The use of movements designed to systematically release physical tension and repressed emotions, developed by psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich and incorporating orgone therapy. SOURCE

Bodynamics

This therapy is recognised within the schools as very effective in dealing with physical trauma.

It is defined as:

Bodynamics is a body centered developmental psychotherapy. It is based on twenty years of empirical research on the developmental origins of client's current problems. The model of Seven Developmental Stages is a detailed description of how developmental experience is encoded in both mind and body.SOURCE

Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine)

This therapy is also very popular and recognised by many of our teachers as being very powerful in dealing with physical trauma and is in many ways related to our inquiry practice. It is often used by war veterans to deal with PTSD.

It is defined in the following way:
Somatic Experiencing is a form of therapy aimed at relieving and resolving the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental and physical trauma-related health problems by focusing on the client's perceived body sensations (or somatic experiences).SOURCE

Bioenergetics

This form of body therapy is a well known way to bring back aliveness and red essence to the body. It is connected to Reichian therapy but further refined by Alexander Lowen.

It is defined in the following way:
Bioenergetic Analysis helps to release chronic muscular tensions, manage affects, expand the capacity for intimacy, heal sexual difficulties and learn new, more fulfilling ways of relating to others. Tenderness, aggression, assertion – and their confluence in sexuality – are seen as core lifesaving forces. The therapeutic relationship provides a place of safety in which healing begins. SOURCE.

Craniosacral Therapy

In our work this has been recommended by Faisal Muqaddam as a great way to release the black essence in the mind.

This therapy is defined as:

Craniosacral therapy (CST), or cranial-sacral therapy, is a form of bodywork or alternative therapy focused primarily on the concept of "primary respiration" and regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid by using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. To do this, a practitioner will apply light touches to a patient's skull, face, spine and pelvis.SOURCE
